Cookie Policy

Last updated · May 22, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on bayitapp.com (the "website") and why. It does not apply to the Bayit iOS app, which does not use cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They allow the site to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is being used. "Similar technologies" includes localStorage, sessionStorage, and tracking pixels - all of which behave like cookies for the purposes of this policy.

What we use, and why

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies, grouped by purpose:

Strictly necessary

These are required for the website to function. They cannot be switched off.

  • Session and security cookies set by our hosting provider (Vercel) to serve pages and prevent abuse.

Analytics (consent required)

These help us understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. They are off by default. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you consent; PostHog only loads if you choose "Accept." If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we skip the banner and do not load analytics at all.

  • PostHog - product analytics. Once you consent, it sets first-party cookies and local-storage items to count visits and page views. It does not store cross-site identifiers, and analytics on this website are not linked to your name or email.

Cookieless analytics

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures aggregate page traffic without cookies, without cross-site tracking, and without storing personal identifiers. Because it places nothing on your device, it runs without a consent prompt.

What we do NOT use

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not advertise.
  • Third-party social-media tracking pixels.
  • Cross-site behavioral profiling.

Managing cookies

Browser settings

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Look in your browser's settings or preferences under "Privacy" or "Cookies." If you block all cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a decision to decline analytics: we do not show the consent banner and we do not load PostHog. We also do not sell or share personal information under any circumstances.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page - it reopens the consent banner so you can accept or decline again. You can also clear your browser's cookies and local storage for bayitapp.com, or email privacy@bayitapp.com and we'll help.

Updates

If we change the cookies we use, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
